Wheelchair users traveling to the city center from the airport, are advised to submit their requests at the Havaist counters located on the transportation floor, at least 1 hour in advance, specifying their preferred route.

The (M11) Gayrettepe - Istanbul Airport metro started operation between Kağıthane and Istanbul Airport on January 22, 2023, and stops at 8 stations. With the opening of the Gayrettepe station on January 29, 2024, the city's first connection to the metro lines was established.

 

With the integration of the Mahmutbey metro line, direct, safe, fast and affordable access to global transfer hub, Istanbul Airport, will be possible throughout the train network.

The Istanbul Airport metro line features 8 stations: Gayrettepe, Kağıthane, Üniversite-Hasdal, Kemerburgaz, Göktürk, İhsaniye, İstanbul Havalimanı, and Kargo Terminal.

The Istanbul Airport metro line was built by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and is managed by the TCDD.

The travel time between the Gayrettepe and İstanbul Havalimanı stations on the Istanbul Airport metro line is 30 minutes.
