At iGA Istanbul Airport, our aim is to "introduce the mobility methods of the future, using technology to benefit both humanity and the environment, while providing our guests with a comfortable and secure travel experience in the place where different cultures meet".
Our Sustainability Reports
We are pleased to announce the publication of our 2020 Sustainability Report, showcasing our commitment to sustainability as an integral aspect of our corporate culture. This report highlights our environmental, social, and economic contributions in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.
Our Environmental Strategy
Adapting to Climate Change: Achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2050
Our carbon management activities are conducted according to the procedures prepared in line with the Standard 14064-1 Quantification and Reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Removals at the Organizational Level.
Energy Efficiency
In accordance with our Energy Management Policy, the ISO 50001 Energy Management System has been installed and we are implementing effective practices to promote conscious consumption and energy savings. In addition to implementing system-based energy efficiency practices, we monitor the consumption of all our systems for any unusual activity and take the appropriate measures when necessary.
Zero Waste
Our waste management system has been implemented throughout our business and has been designed in line with our 'Zero Waste' objective, fostering a shared approach among all our stakeholders. Within this context, our priority is to minimize waste, a process that we facilitate through our sophisticated waste management system, using separation at source and quadruple separation containers. Our recycling practices use the semi-automated separation system that has been established at Istanbul Airport.
Water and Wastewater Management
We recognize the importance of water as a vital and scarce resource. With this awareness, we conduct ISO 14046 Water Footprint Standard studies throughout iGA Istanbul Airport, with the aim of understanding and evaluating the extent and significance of the potential environmental impacts caused by our activities. We anticipate that the inability to feed water sources will become an increasingly crucial challenge due to increased consumption and pollution, and that the Water Footprint Standard will evolve into the Zero Water Footprint concept in the near future.
Biodiversity and Wildlife Management
We at iGA Istanbul Airport strive to reduce the impact of our operations on natural ecosystems and biodiversity and intend to eliminate these impacts using supplementary measures. Our efforts to preserve biological assets at iGA Istanbul Airport continue, following the Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP), which we implemented in 2015.

İGA HUB: Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Technology Come Together with a Focus on Aviation
We initiated the iGA Hub program in partnership with ITU ARI Technopolis to support technology-focused initiatives and ensure their integration into our operations.
Our aim with the iGA Hub program is to implement innovative projects encompassing all aviation components and sectors, fostering comprehensive interaction within the aviation industry. These projects will provide more efficient, rapid, and cost-effective solutions for passengers, employees, business poartners, and authorities.
Risk Management
In line with our company's strategies and objectives, we conduct risk management activities at both the corporate and business unit levels, using a methodology developed in compliance with the COSO Enterprise Risk Management framework and the TS ISO 31000 standard, under the guidance of our risk management organization.
Sustainability Management and Reporting
We carry out our sustainability initiatives in accordance with the Sustainability Plan, established in 2022. The Sustainability Plan encompasses our 2030 objectives, established in line with our organization's critical areas of sustainability, as well as our assessment and review procedures for these objectives.
We present the Sustainability Report to our stakeholders on an annual basis.
