The Future's Largest Cargo Hub
iGA Istanbul Airport Cargo Hub and Logistics Center was established on an area of 1.4 million square meters in the first phase of the project and aims to be the largest cargo hub in the world with supplementary areas to be built during the next phases. Thanks to our country's strategic location, the iGA Istanbul Airport Cargo Hub is becoming a significant player in terms of its contribution to air cargo transportation and, in turn, to the country's economy, with growing investment from domestic and foreign companies. The Cargo and Logistics Center is experiencing a rapid growth trend in cargo operation volume, with plans to increase the air cargo tonnage capacity to 5.5 million tons per year during the second and third phases.
The Cargo Hub and Logistics Center hosts several domestic and international companies offering services such as warehousing, temporary storage, duty-free storage, logistics, line maintenance, and airline catering. With its construction on a large area, the center is designed to provide top-tier services to meet the needs of our customers, including storage of import and export cargo products, storage activities for goods with completed customs processes, ground handling services, line maintenance, and airline catering services.
Featuring leading companies in the industry such as Turkish Cargo, Çelebi, Havaş, MNG, UPS, S Sistem, DHL Express, and Trendyol, the iGA Istanbul Airport Cargo Hub is on its way to becoming the world's largest. At the same time, the Cargo Hub has the potential to become a leader in this field, with its time-dependent service quality in aircraft maintenance facilities provided by the Aircraft Maintenance and Repair Center, which was established on a 700,000 square meter area between two parallel runways. In addition, it will create an infrastructure for aircraft part supply, reducing dependency on foreign sources and becoming a global center in this field.
At the Istanbul Airport Cargo Hub, the building housing the warehouse, agencies, and customs offices, as well as the area where all cargo and logistics operations take place, are located together with the Customs and Clearance Directorate, ensuring systematic and uninterrupted cargo and logistics operations. Parking positions for this center, where more than 30 wide-body cargo airplanes can be accommodated simultaneously, are situated in front of the warehouses. A flawless operational infrastructure, unaffected by airplane traffic, is designed between these facilities, the passenger terminals, and remote parking areas, using airside service tunnels passing beneath runways and taxiways.
Services such as banking facilities, cafes and restaurants, including Namlı Market, Etiler Marmaris, and Homemade Meals Restaurant, dry cleaning, hairdressers, prayer rooms, veterinary services, a health center, and testing laboratories, are being planned for use by the personnel of all the companies working in the cargo hub and for those using the area for business purposes. Parking areas with a capacity for 18,000 vehicles are being planned as backup areas when traffic density is high and being built over a total usage area of 456 thousand square meters. An alternative entrance is available for passengers and employees to reach the cargo hub without being affected by rush-hour traffic.

The Central Hub Area covers 450,000 square meters and is located next to the main terminal building. The central hub area, consisting of hotels, offices, retail spaces, social venues, parks, rest areas, exhibition centers, a mosque, educational institutions, and residential units (known as service apartments), will transform into a comfortable and engaging space for aviation industry professionals. In this context, a sophisticated 5-star hotel is being constructed and will operate under the Hilton franchise. The Terminal - Central Hub Area pedestrian road connection will provide an uninterrupted route through the parking lot and metro station, so that employees and passengers can reach the area easily.
